XactPAY Web® Step-by-Step
- After you have completed the XactPAY Web® software setup you are ready to transmit your first payroll through QuickBooks®.
- You will upload the payroll data to XactPAY Web® via an internet-based data upload process.
- Each time your payroll information is transmitted, XactPAY Web® will calculate the premium for your Hartford Workers' Compensation Insurance policy for the payroll period.
- Prior to drawing the premium from your bank account, The Hartford will send you an email notification of the upcoming draw amount.
- The Hartford will draw the premium for the applicable payroll period from your checking account.

How to Get Started
- Send us your contact information through XactPAY.com here. If you currently have a Hartford agent, please input the name of the agency and we will contact your agent directly.
- Upon receipt, a Hartford representative will contact you to discuss the XactPAY Web® service and available Workers Compensation coverages.
- If the available coverage is acceptable to you, The Hartford’s representative will obtain all necessary underwriting information from you. If you meet The Hartford’s underwriting guidelines and you accept our offer to provide Workers Compensation coverage, a policy will be issued to you.
- We will then send you consent and EFT authorization forms necessary for XactPAY Web® service. When the forms are completed and returned we will issue you a XactPAY Web® ID and password. Upon receipt of the secure ID and password, you will need to:
- Download and install the XactPAY Upload Utility.
- Enter ID and password, and run first payroll data upload.
